My husband and I traveled to Salt Spring Island over the weekend to attend a friends wedding. When we arrived at the Harbour House Hotel we were greeted by the most friendly front desk staff ever. My husband is in a wheelchair, and the room we had booked online unfortunately did not work for us in terms of layout. We asked at the front desk if we could be moved to another room. Cam, the front desk attendant, was beyond helpful and accommodating. He moved us to another room which was a significant upgrade from our previous room at no extra cost. Our new room was beautiful. It was spacious, with a king sized bed, jacuzzi and lovely view of the harbour. We were so pleased. We enjoyed every moment of our stay on the Island and we have to say that Cam made our experience even more enjoyable. We were greeted each day with a big smile and friendly face. He really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience at the Harbour House. The hotel is conveniently located a short walk to the town of Ganges, an idillic community right on the water. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel that was very warm and cozy, and if you're up for a more active night, there is a pub across the street that stays open late. Location could not be better. Thanks for an amazing weekend. hsmill Kelowna, Canada

Dear Manager and Hotel Employees, Many thanks for your assistance and hospitality to Santa and Mrs. Claus and the entire crew of the Lions International Christmas Ship. After a long but exciting day, we so appreciate that the hotel was ready and everyone made us feel welcome. From arrival to our departure, the experience was five star. The Lions Christmas Ship visited 12 islands in the U.S.A. and Canada, a hospital and an intermediate care facility. Nearly 800 gifts were given out to children of all ages. Santa shared his lap and ear with every visitor along with Mrs. Claus. Elves ensured that every child talked with Santa and received an appropriate gift. Clowns, pirates, and an assortment of characters entertained and spread joy among those waiting patiently for their turn with the man himself. Still others worked on the logistics of set up, loading and unloading, costumes, food preparation and other shipboard duties. Many hours went into the planning, before and after the actual trip. See you next year! Sincerely, 2012 Lions International Christmas Ship Committee.

The Harbour House has become the only place we will consider staying on Salt Spring. We stayed 2 nights in the deluxe room with jacuzzi tub and balcony with a gas fireplace. It was amazingly good value - $125 per night for a gorgeous room with lots of amenities. Everything was clean and comfortable and there was nice attention to detail, like the soaps and bath bomb from the local soap works and the plush bath robes. We sat out on our private balcony beside the fireplace and watched the harbour in the mornings, it was idyllic. We also went and checked out the farm behind the hotel, which was producing lettuces even in January. It's muddy though, so wear boots! There is a yoga studio in the hotel building also, although we didn't check it out this time. I reviewed the hotel restaurant separately, but I will say briefly that the food is amazing, always fresh, local and delicious. We ate there both nights and loved everything we ordered. Stayed here for a couple days recently on an upgraded group on. Close to the ferry. We stayed in a deluxe room for an extra 20$ and it was worth it. The jacuzzi tub for two, a comfy king size bed and the outdoor private patio with fire place was great. We woke up early the second morning to catch the sunrise and it was well worth it-beautiful. Our room was clean, and stocked with toiletries including a daily bath bomb and soap from salt spring islands soap works. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The art work hung around the hotel is beautiful. The attached restaurant was delicious, but not cheap. Overall we were very happy with our romantic weekend in Salt Spring. Be careful heading up Mount Maxwell in the winter, rough terrain, but beautiful views. Salt Spring Island cheese was great, free goat and sheep cheese tasting. Vineyards, lavender farm and many art studios were closed or had very limited hours between the end of October and April/May so be aware. Guest Review on Tripadvisor, Reviewed 19 January 2013

My daughter and I recently spent 2 nights at the Harbour House Hotel Restaurant & Organic Farm on Salt Spring Island. The excellent customer service began with my initial contact on the phone with Dave. After our arrival we experienced amazingly friendly and helpful interactions with the rest of the desk, housekeeping and restaurant staff throughout our stay. The view from the room was excellent, the restaurant comfortable and the food outstanding. We will definitely stay here when we return in the spring! Close to town with a view of Ganges Harbour, this unpretentious hotel has nice clean rooms- not fancy but some have fireplaces and harbour views. The on-site restaurant has good food and live music some evenings. A warm welcome form Cam at the front desk got us off on the right foot. No gym or pool here though, so bring outdoor gear to keep fit. Guest Review on Tripadvisor, Reviewed 21 November 2012

Grateful nurses: "The University of Alberta nursing class of ’67 sends a huge, healthy bouquet of roses to everyone at the Harbour House Hotel. Your excellent service and amazing organic food provided us with a very memorable time as we celebrated our 45th class reunion on the Oct 13-14 weekend. Over 50 retired nurses from all corners of the world renewed their friendships and shared wonderful memories.” U of A Nursing class of 1967. Harbour House Hotel was the venue for our nursing class reunion this past weekend and I want to say how impressed I was with the service, accommodations, the location and the food. Your hotel was the perfect venue for our 50+ classmates to gather together, catch up and share memories of our student days. The location, nestled by Ganges, was within easy walking distance to the restaurants, Saturday Market and all wonderful little boutiques. Your catering service and the food were excellent. Our class loved your place. Thank you so much for all the extra attention given to our group. It was, indeed, a most memorable event. Marion Oldenburg - October 16, 2012

I can not find the words to thank you enough, I doubt I ever will be able to. You made this Wedding for Mike and I. You are not just the "event Planner" to me but a friend one I am so proud and privileged to have. You opened your heart to us with your support and all your hard work....as said......that goes beyond an Event Planner .....that is a wonderful friend who did so much to make this Wedding as memorable, beautiful and special as it was. Rhys with my love, Thank You!! Please also pass on my thoughts to the staff at the Harbour House, to the Chef the compliments on the food have been endless it was amazing!! To all the staff who worked the Wedding and those who dealt with the guests who stayed at the Hotel ....again everyone has complimented on how kind and accommodating all the staff were and how wonderful they were to everyone. You all "shone" and are the greatest asset the owners of the Harbour House could hope to have. The people "make the place" and this could not be more true of the Harbour House. Thank you!!
