The Long Harbour - Tsawwassen route connects to the mainland near Vancouver, B.C.

The 35-minute Fulford-Swartz Bay route connects the island to Swartz Bay, near the provincial capital of Victoria.
This route can be very busy, especially in the summer and on commuter sailings, so travellers with vehicles should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to sailing. Walk-on passengers and cyclists are permitted.
Bus service is available to the Swartz Bay terminal on Vancouver Island but there is no bus service on Salt Spring Island, so walk-on passengers will have to make arrangements for transportation once they reach the island. Scooter rentals, car rentals and taxi services are available on Salt Spring.

The Vesuvius to Crofton ferry is a 20-minute trip to Vancouver Island, landing between Duncan and Nanaimo. The most frequent sailing and rarely overcrowded, it can be used to and from central and north Vancouver Island or as an alternate route to the mainland, connecting to ferries via Duke Point or Departure Bay in Nanaimo.
Walk-on passengers and cyclists are permitted, however there is no bus service at the Crofton terminal on Vancouver Island.
There is also no bus service on Salt Spring Island, so walk-on passengers will have to make arrangements for transportation once they reach the island. Scooter rentals, car rentals and taxi services are available on Salt Spring.

Several seaplane companies serve the Gulf Islands. An average flight between Ganges and Vancouver Airport or Ganges and downtown Vancouver is 20-30 minutes and offers a spectacular view of the Strait and Gulf Islands. Luggage space is limited and reservations are strongly recommended, especially in the summer months.
The Harbour House is within walking distance of the seaplane dock in Ganges Harbour. Taxi service, car rentals and scooter rentals are also available.
